The series Variations started out as photographs of various combinations of materials such as tulle, lace fabric, paper,
plastic, foil, cellophane and chiffon. The photographs were then transferred with pigment onto chiffon, so that the
images merged with the fabric and could then be viewed from both sides. The fabric distorts the image because it
folds and curls. Lying on the floor, hanging on the wall or from the ceiling, the chiffon lengths become
spacious elements through which the background is partially visible.
